Immanuel is a proud dad of a child with special needs, a design researcher, and an advocate for inclusion in technology. At GovTech, he combines design, strategy, and inclusion to make digital services more accessible. His career started with improving the Singpass App's accessibility and eventually progressed to co-founding a ground-up community for public officers to discuss inclusive design across various agencies, and setting up GovTech's first accessibility unit. Most recently, he adapted global accessibility guidelines in order to fit Singapore's context for our Digital Service Standards.Through his experiences as a caregiver and working with the community, Immanuel sees firsthand how technology can either create barriers or remove them, and believes that our Smart Nation becomes truly smart when it empowers everyone.​
